Sobre a radicalização da sociedade israelense

Guerra em Gaza amplia clima de ódio e deixa democracia israelense em escombros –  Guila Flint: Opera Mundi 11/08/2014

A ofensiva israelense à Faixa de Gaza deixou o enclave palestino em escombros e também causou danos inestimáveis à liberdade de expressão e à coexistência entre judeus e árabes dentro de Israel. Em meio às tentativas de prolongar o cessar-fogo, intermediadas pelo Egito, já se pode fazer um balanço da destruição causada durante a chamada “Operação Margem Protetora”. Em Gaza os estragos são visíveis: bairros inteiros transformaram-se em montanhas de escombros, cerca de 1.900 pessoas morreram e mais de 100 mil perderam suas casas. Em Israel a destruição não é tão óbvia, mas sim permeia a sociedade e deixa o país, que se considera “a única democracia do Oriente Médio”, com sérios questionamentos sobre o futuro. “Já não se pode mais levar crianças às manifestações pacifistas em Tel Aviv”, afirmou um manifestante, depois que ativistas de organizações pela paz foram espancados por gangues de extrema-direita no centro da maior cidade de Israel. A observação expressa o clima de medo que se criou quando a maioria dos cidadãos se alinhou com a posição do governo e uma minoria significativa, daqueles que são contra, vem sofrendo uma repressão sem precedentes. O veterano jornalista Gideon Levy, do Haaretz, que cobre a questão palestina há anos, recebeu tantas ameaças de morte que o jornal acabou contratando guarda-costas que o acompanham 24 horas por dia. Levy, que denunciou o massacre aos palestinos de Gaza, é taxado como “traidor” e “quinta coluna”.

O II Colóquio Internacional de Exegese do Antigo Testamento, organizado pelo Grupo de Pesquisa DIPRAI ( = As Dimensões Proféticas da Religião do Antigo Israel), visa, sobretudo, ao estudo literário-histórico e teológico das tradições bíblicas que apresentam o evento do ‘êxodo’ (Ex, Lv, Nm, Dt). Serão acolhidas também pesquisas avançadas sobre outros textos pertencentes à Bíblia Hebraica, desde que estas, em sua reflexão teológica e literária, façam referência à experiência do ‘êxodo’ – programação em fase de elaboração. Aceitamos propostas de trabalho de docentes e pós-graduandos até 14 de agosto. A 1ª reunião da comissão organizadora será no dia 15 de agosto.
