Abstract:
Khirbet Qeiyafa is a 2.3 hectare fortified early 10th century BCE site, located in the Judean Shephelah, atop a hill that bordered the Elah Valley from the north. This is a key strategic location in the biblical kingdom of Judah, on the main road from Philistia and the Coastal Plain to Jerusalem and Hebron in the hill country. It is the only site in the Kingdoms of Judah and Israel with two gates. This unique feature provides a clear indication of the site’s identity as biblical Sha’arayim, a place name that means “two gates” in Hebrew. Sha’arayim is mentioned three times in the Bible (Jos 15:36; 1 Sam 17:52 and 1 Ch 4:31-32). It is located near the Elah valley, associated with King David twice, and not mentioned in conjunction with any other later First Temple period tradition. This accords with the archaeological and radiometric data that indicate a single-phase settlement in the early 10th century BCE at Khirbet Qeiyafa.

Comitiva do CEBI vai à Europa para estreitar parcerias

Uma comitiva formada pelo Frei Carlos Mesters, por Lúcia Weiler e pelo secretário executivo do CEBI, Edmilson Schinelo, embarcou nesta segunda-feira, 24 de novembro, para a Europa, em missão junto às entidades parceiras da cooperação internacional e comunidades locais. A viagem de 15 dias – o retorno é no dia 10 de dezembro – inicia pela Holanda, passa pela Alemanha e termina na Suíça.

Simpósio sobre leitura e ensino da Bíblia no Brasil
Leitura e ensino da Bíblia no Brasil é tema de simpósio
A Leitura e Ensino da Bíblia no Brasil é o tema do Simpósio que Associação de Seminários Teológicos Evangélicos (ASTE) promove de 15 a 18 de dezembro de 2008, em São Leopoldo. O evento será realizado no Seminário Concórdia da Igreja Evangélica Luterana do Brasil (IELB), com participação de Milton Schwantes, Paulo Teixeira e Vilson Scholz.
A programação do simpósio conta com uma mesa redonda com professores da área de Bíblia sobre o ensino das disciplinas bíblicas nas escolas de teologia. Também será assunto do evento o panorama da hermenêutica no Brasil, bem como as percepções sobre leituras da Bíblia.
Além disso, haverá uma oficina sobre ferramentas para o ensino das línguas bíblicas e outra sobre o ensino da metodologia exegética.
As inscrições podem ser feitas junto ao site da ASTE.
