James Swetnam’s Introduction to the Study of New Testament Greek has become a classic. Generations of students at both the Pontifical Biblical Institute and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, in addition to other institutions across the globe, have profited from Swetnam’s text. Randy Soto’s companion lexicon will make Swetnam’s Introduction now even more accessible. Consequently, the student of New Testament Greek owes a debt of thanks to both Swetnam and Soto.
A gramática de grego do Swetnam, em uma versão ainda sem o léxico, foi traduzida para o português em 2002. A gramática foi lançada aqui pela Paulus, em tradução feita por Henrique Murachco, Juvino A. Maria Jr. e Paulo Bazaglia da segunda edição inglesa revista e corrigida, publicada pela editora do Pontifício Instituto Bíblico de Roma, em 1998, e que tem como título An Introduction to the Study of the New Testament Greek. A edição original é de 1992, baseada, por sua vez, em notas mimeografadas de 1981. A gramática, além do português, foi traduzida também para o italiano, espanhol, coreano e ucraniano.
