About Me
My name is Airton José da Silva. I was born in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais, Brazil. I studied Theology and Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome, Italy.
Professor of Hebrew Bible / Old Testament at the Faculty of Theology of the Archdiocese of Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil, since 1979. I was a professor in the same area at the FTCR, PUC-Campinas, from 1980 to 2006.
My publications are mainly about Prophetic Studies, History of Israel, and Social-Scientific Criticism. I like to study Jeremiah, Guimarães Rosa – a Brazilian writer -, and Einstein. I’m a die-hard fan of Ayrton Senna. To find out more, check out my CV, or read this interview.
